Enhanced Cleanliness Policy
While I have always kept my Taxi clean, I am now following the example of others and cleaning/disinfecting the seats and Acrylic partition after each Taxi ride.
1 of the nice things I like about the Honda Odyssey is that I have Leather seats. I believe they are a more sanitary choice than ‘cloth’ seats, which can harbor all kinds of old bacteria and such. You may have noticed that most Ubers and Lift drivers have ‘cloth’ seats, unless you upgrade vehicle.
Acrylic Partition
I’ve been told by both Maui Plexiglass and the Taxi Inspector, that I am the first Taxi company on Maui to install an Acrylic Partition in the Taxi cab.
I felt even in August 2020 that if the Virus is a type of Flu, then it would probably come back every Winter, as the Influenza (flu) does. While I couldn’t really afford it, I felt that having a partition was the way to go. This offers both the passengers and driver peace of mind in the months and years to come.
As a Taxi Owner/driver, I want my Customers to feel Clean and Safe. At the same time, as a Grandmother of 6- who all live here on Maui Hawaii, I also want my family to feel safe in having me around.
Here on Maui, we have been in a bit of a ‘bubble’. For the most part we have been protected and isolated from most travelers. It is one of the benefits of living in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Unlike most States, you can’t just drive across the border.
Now that our busy Winter Season is upon us, the Sate had a lot of pressure from all the Big Corporations and Hotels to let Travelers back in.
